Looking for News? LexisNexis Search Tips

LexisNexis Academic, All News Search
LexisNexis Academic offers so much material that it's difficult to narrow down search results to a manageable number, particularly when you're searching for News.

Here are some tips:
  • Use the News search accessible from the left sidebar. It offers more options than the News search box in the center page.
  • Put quotation marks around your search terms if a phrase. This forces LexisNexis to look for the terms in the exact order you specify.
  • Search for your terms in "Headline and Lead" instead of the Everywhere default. Your news articles are more likely to be about your terms if those words are in the headline or the lead paragraph than if simply mentioned somewhere in the article.
  • Specify the date--some titles indexed by LexisNexis extend back for years.
