EBSCO eBook: Culture Wars

Roger Chapman's Culture Wars: An Encyclopedia of Issues, Viewpoints, and Voices (M.E. Sharpe, 2010) is available online to students, faculty, and staff at Christian Brothers University.

With an introduction that covers the history of the concept of culture wars, the encyclopedia itself is an alphabetic listing of issues, events, and individuals: Afrocentrism, anti-Semitism, Joan Baez, book banning, charter schools, James Dobson, Bob Dylan, Earth Day, gun control, hate crimes, homeschooling, Alfred Kinsey, Rush Limbaugh, Spike Lee, Harvey Milk, the New Deal, revisionist history, school prayer, Jon Steward, talk radio, and Andy Warhol, among many others. Historic background is provided for each entry.

Culture Wars is one of our collection of 70,000 EBSCO eBooks; these can be read online or downloaded to a PC (for a limited time).
