Primary Sources in GVRL

The Gale Virtual Reference Library (GVRL) includes guides to and collections of primary source material related to a number of social issues, among them:
  • Crime and Punishment: Essential Primary Sources
  • Environmental Issues: Essential Primary Sources
  • Family in Society: Essential Primary Sources
  • Gender Issues and Sexuality: Essential Primary Sources
  • Government, Politics, and Protest: Essential Primary Sources
  • Human and Civil Rights: Essential Primary Sources

These can be found in the Social Science section of GVRL which can be searched as a group--useful if you want to find a wide amount of material on a topic. You can also click on an individual title in the group to search a single work.

Primary sources record firsthand observations of events by the people who were there--diaries, letters, newspaper reports, interviews, memoirs, photographs, policies and more.
