There is a new version of Write-N-Cite 4 available for download from RefWorks. RefWorks' message states:
"The new version offers a completely rebuilt installer resulting in a much higher success rate for users trying to install the product. We have also made significant changes to the synching process between RefWorks and Write-N-Cite, specifically with the Windows version, and users will see significant increases in synch speed. Our internal testing has shown speed increases from initial synch times of up to 13 minutes with the older version to less than 40 seconds on first synch with the updated version and subsequent synch times that were once close to 13 minutes have fallen to less than 4 seconds."
If anyone has had trouble installing earlier versions of WNC4, go to the Write-N-Cite page in RefWorks and download and install the newest version. You won't need to uninstall any old versions.
Watch for future improvements, particularly an auto-update notification which will include a lifting of the 2000 citation limit.
However, if you don't want to use WNC4 just yet, RefWorks WILL continue to support WNC3 through the end of 2013.
