Help the OED with OED Appeals

Baked Alaska, email, FAQ, headhunter, header, in your dreams, Kwanzaa--these are some of the terms that the editors of the Oxford English Dictionary are calling on the public to help them document. Launched in October 2012, OED Appeals is a new online initiative that asks for help in tracing the history and usage of English words. Go to the OED Appeals website to see words and phrases that are under investigation currently. Additional information and a video about OED Appeals are also available.

The OED Online is one of our subscription databases and is available to students, faculty, and staff of Christian Brothers University.
