WorldCat Citation Help

The catalog of catalogs, WorldCat, lets you search the holdings of thousands of libraries at one time. It contains references to books (both in and out of print), articles, and more.

Like many other online resources, WorldCat provides suggested citations for all the items indexed in its database. APA, Chicago, Harvard, MLA, and Turabian styles are represented. Just click the "Cite/Export" link to open the citation window. Be careful to check any WorldCat-generated citation against your style manual. While there are errors, WorldCat does provide all the elements that you need for a citation. Here's an important point--unlike other resources, WorldCat includes a great deal of less-common and harder-to-cite material such as government documents, state publications, and reports. The times reference has you stumped are when WorldCat is most helpful.
