Medical Images

If you need medical images, many of our medical databases include an image search option. In addition, there are several free resources available.

PubMed Central automatically displays available images along with any search results, as does CINAHL. CINAHL's search interface also includes special image limiters, allowing you to look specifically for images instead just happening on them. In addition, EBSCOHost, the vendor for CINAHL, provides a special image searching interface for all of their databases; you'd just have to remember to choose CINAHL from the available list.

OVID includes images, if you know how to access them. See this set of instructions for finding them.

Our newest subscription resource, MDConsult, features an Images tab among its many search options. These  images are pulled from the fulltext books and journals available on MDConsult, provided the publisher has allowed the rights.
